Another New Chapter

My boyfriend has been waiting for a class date for training for several months now.  He was among those selected to retrain before the end of this fiscal year.  Of course, the Air Force Personnel Center seems to enjoy sitting around until the last minute.  He has been trying to find out information on his class date for months now, with little success and much frustration.  I was beginning to wonder if he would even get a class date by the end of this summer.  He finally found out he has a class date starting sometime next month.  This means he has less than a month to get everything ready to move.  He is rather irritated.

His training will take place near San Angelo, Texas.  He will be down there for several months.  Where he goes after that is unknown at this point.  He says there is a good chance he will be coming back to Oklahoma City, but that is not entirely certain.  While he is down in Texas, it has been indicated that he will likely have an apartment.  While I doubt this is something he wants to deal with over the next month, it is better than having a billeting room.

The base is fairly small from what he saw.  He drove down with a friend Saturday to take a look around the base and the local area.  He was not impressed.  At least he will not be down there for too long, though.  I ended up helping from Oklahoma City by looking up different apartment complexes he had addresses for on some type of list.  They had a map, though it was not nearly as detailed as they would have liked, because I was having to describe where the different streets were in reference to what they had on their map.  It was amusing at first, then went downhill.  I think they managed to find most of the places they asked for help looking up, though.

  1. Of course, the Air Force Personnel Center seems to enjoy sitting around until the last minute. Replace "Air Force Personnel Center" with "anything related to the military" and you have a universal truth. Hurry up and wait, right? šŸ˜‰

  2. Emeree says:

You have a good point there, but some places seem to enjoy making people wait much more than others.
