Golden Sunset

It is not often I happen to notice the sunset these days.  The one on Wednesday stood out, though.  It was a golden color which clashed with the nasty gray storm clouds looming in the distance.  That storm hit about an hour later, and I honestly cannot remember the last time a thunderstorm scared me (or the cats; they normally ignore the storm, but they spent most of this storm hiding under the bed) so much.  It seemed as though the storm was just over my apartment for at least an hour.  The walls rattled constantly from the thunder, which sounded like a bowling ball being thrown around the skies above my apartment repeatedly.  I could hear the thunder moving through the sky, too, which is not something I hear very often.  I did not lose power, though, amazingly enough.

I am an Air Force veteran. I served as a Security Forces troop for nearly seven years and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before separating in 2008. My tours of duty were in England and Oklahoma. I live in the Seattle area, which is where I grew up. I used my GI Bill and earned a degree from the University of Washington. I currently work in downtown Seattle and experience all the adventure that comes with that.
