Death by Sock?

I walked into my bedroom yesterday evening and saw something that amused me greatly.  My Siamese can be very paranoid about the weirdest things.  These objects vary in size and have included clothing and the sofa.  Yesterday, the offending object of her paranoia was a lone black sock.  She was sitting there staring at it with the weirdest expression.  Every now and again, she would move forward slowly and reach out a paw to tap the sock.  Usually, she did not actually touch the sock.  She would get too nervous and back away and return to staring at it for a few more moments.  After a few minutes of watching this and trying not to laugh too hard, I tossed something in her general direction just as she reached out with her paw.  She jumped a good foot in the air, and I had a great time watching her look back and forth between what I tossed, the offending sock, and me.

I am an Air Force veteran. I served as a Security Forces troop for nearly seven years and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before separating in 2008. My tours of duty were in England and Oklahoma. I live in the Seattle area, which is where I grew up. I used my GI Bill and earned a degree from the University of Washington. I currently work in downtown Seattle and experience all the adventure that comes with that.
