Thoughts (Part Sixteen)

This is probably one of the most grueling stretches of road I traveled on the drive from Oklahoma City to Seattle at the end of last October.  The scenery was breathtaking, but the twists, turns, inclines, and declines made things rather interesting to say the least.  Along the way were signs warning of falling rock and avalanches.  Not something I really wanted to see as I was driving through the mountains in less than ideal conditions.  Colorado had just endured its first blizzard of the season and the roads were full of slush and sand.  I made it through safe and sound and arrived at my parents' house the following evening without incident.

When I see stories like this in places I have been, it just makes me wonder how close I came to having to deal with it.  It is a weird feeling.

About emeree

I am an Air Force veteran. I served as a Security Forces troop for nearly seven years and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before separating in 2008. My tours of duty were in England and Oklahoma. I live in the Seattle area, which is where I grew up. I used my GI Bill and earned a degree from the University of Washington. I currently work in downtown Seattle and experience all the adventure that comes with that.
