30 Days of Truth: Day 2

Day 02:  Something you love about yourself.

I have found myself to be more tolerant of people and their likes and beliefs than other people I know.  What someone finds annoying, I shrug off.  Yeah, it is not something I really like about the person, but it does not really bother me, usually.

I attribute this to my seven years in the Air Force.  Why? Because I had to sit on post for eight to twelve hours with various people.  I did not always like the person, but I had to tolerate them for the entire shift, or it would be a very long day or night.  It did not always work, by any means.  There were people I was posted with that I could not stand and was noticeably happier once they were taken off my post for whatever reason.

But, for the most part, I am tolerant of people until they give me a very good reason not to be.  I am also quite tolerant of different types of music and conversation topics that I do not care for.  It may not seem like much, but I really do love this part of me that has developed over the years.

About emeree

I am an Air Force veteran. I served as a Security Forces troop for nearly seven years and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before separating in 2008. My tours of duty were in England and Oklahoma. I live in the Seattle area, which is where I grew up. I used my GI Bill and earned a degree from the University of Washington. I currently work in downtown Seattle and experience all the adventure that comes with that.
