Wave of Yawns

I did not get to see it, but my Spanish instructor thought it was amusing enough to mention.  It started with one guy on the far side of the class and continued to the other side.  The instructor said she had never seen so many near-simultaneous yawns before.

Yesterday, I apparently left my Spanish textbook in the classroom.  I did not realize until I was trying to dig it out of my backpack today and could not find it.  It was sitting in the front of the room.  I was grateful.  I am always paranoid after my years in the Air Force that anything I forget somewhere will immediately be gone forever.  I have no idea how many flashlights, gloves, and especially pens I lost over those years.

I have been reading the articles about the Zodiac being messed with thousands of years ago, and how most people are actually a different sign.  Then today, there was an article about how the West follows a different Zodiac than what those articles have been referring to.  At this point, I have stopped paying attention to it.  I am a Gemini, but do not follow the horoscope regularly enough for it to really matter.

The only other things I have seen repeatedly in the news lately is in reference to the Arizona shootings, the inquest of an officer involved shooting in Seattle last year, and predictions of whether the Seahawks or the Bears will win the football game this weekend.

Yet, there are other things going on in the news.  I know people in Austrailia who have endured great flooding and are now coping with the loss of family.  I have barely heard a whisper of that on the local news this past week.  My prayers go out to them as they put together the pieces that remain and find a way to keep going.

About emeree

I am an Air Force veteran. I served as a Security Forces troop for nearly seven years and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before separating in 2008. My tours of duty were in England and Oklahoma. I live in the Seattle area, which is where I grew up. I used my GI Bill and earned a degree from the University of Washington. I currently work in downtown Seattle and experience all the adventure that comes with that.
