Coloring by Needle

It is a thought that keeps popping through my head while I work on my cross-stitch project.  It really is just another version of coloring.  Instead of crayons or markers you are using threads and a needle.  Why is this going through my head? I have no idea.  I do not really have anything to worry about this weekend.  Spring Quarter does not start for another week, so classes are not on my mind.  There are family issues and other stuff, but I try not to think about those things when I am doing needlework, otherwise it does not feel like a hobby.

This photo was taken last night.  I have done another shade of brown on the head since then, bringing the total to six shades of brown with at least that many to go before the head is finished.  At least now, people can tell what animal it is.  Before, one could not really tell what it might be until I finished the paw.  I hope to be finished with the page I am currently working on before my break is over.  Not sure how likely that is, but I am optimistic.

Grades come out Wednesday, I believe.  I know one  grade already, but am not really sure about the other two.  It will depend on how much they liked my essays in those classes, both on the final exam and a six page paper I had to write.  One of them.  I got a high score on the other.  I was somewhat amused, since I did not start writing that paper until the night before.  My brother and I were comparing notes on waiting until the last minute but still pulling off good grades.  He commented afterward, “We’re horrible, aren’t we?” Yes, we are.  But, I still spent a good several hours making sure that paper contained what the professor and his TAs were looking for.

  1. I love working on tapestry but haven;t in recent years. I think blogging has taken over that time. I have dreams of returning to it when I retire….which sadly is years and years away!

I haven’t tried tapestry work yet. My craft experience is limited mostly to cross-stitch though I occasionally work on a latch-hook project, though I haven’t opened that box in years. Kitties are too intrigued. Thing is, I have no idea how I’m ever going to finish all the projects I’ve collected over the years.
