Lights and Waiting

Keeping with tradition, my brother had to take his car in again.  This time it was for the headlight motor.  Both were replaced today.  He was not thrilled, since he is trying to save up money to eventually pay for a Master’s degree.  But, if the motor is not working on his headlight, he will get pulled over.  His car is a cop magnet without that hassle, so no need to attract further attention.  As is tradition, he and I went out to breakfast, and then I drove him back to his apartment until the work was finished on his car.  I am hoping he got some sleep today, despite the break between to pick up his car.  Either way, I think it will be a long night at work for him.

I had an interview Tuesday.  I got along well with the interviewer, so I am eager to hear if I made it to the next round of interviews, which will be with his boss present.  No calls yet.  I know the boss is out of town this week, so that might be slowing things down a bit.  I called earlier to ask for an update, but the guy who interviewed me was not there.  So, I wait.  My brother’s job will apparently be looking at resumes and what not this weekend and then starting interviews next week.  I am hoping to hear from them, too, but we shall see.  I am getting somewhat better at being patient and not going stir crazy.  I had a friend ask how I think it went and I told her I was not sure.  When she asked how I could not be sure I explained that even if I thought it went well, my thoughts can be very different from theirs.  She told me that I should have at least some idea as to how the interview went.  I told her I thought the interview earlier this month went well, and then I learned I was not chosen for the position.  It all depends on what the interviewer thought of the potential employee.

My brother and another student at our tae kwon do school have challenged each other to a sparring match.  They usually spar each other whenever my brother is able to make it on a Friday night, but they have been harassing each other on Facebook and thus there is talk that their next match may be recorded.  It will be an interesting match, too.  The other student had been hoping it would happen tonight, but my brother was not there due to his car issue earlier.  Our head instructor was amused by the no-show.  Silliness!
