Daily Prompt: Fill in the Blank

Three people walk into a bar . . .

Oddly enough, this happened to me within the past couple months.  My cousin came for a visit with her boyfriend and she wanted to try out this gamer bar in the area.  So, we made arrangements to meet her there, as did another of her cousins from her mother’s side of the family.  Well her cousin, my brother, and I all got there before she and her boyfriend did.  Luckily, we had met him before, so we knew we had some similar interests, so it was not as awkward as it could have been.  We talked about the decor, which is always something worthy of discussing in that bar.  We also marveled at the various drinks on the menu and debated which to try.  My brother debated whether to show how much of a carnivore he can be with one of the steak platters.  He has made it his goal to eventually go back to the bar for the sole purpose of trying that particular option.  In the end, we ordered a humongous appetizer and patiently waited.

Our mutual cousin did finally show up, and in time to help us devour that appetizer.  We also tried our hand at various drinks.  I had to try one of the sonic screwdrivers named in honor of the Tenth Doctor.  My cousin showed that she can do shots, but she cannot stop from making a face when the alcohol burns.  My brother and I both asked if she was okay after that face and have been unable to adequately replicate it for our parents.  I probably cannot keep from making a face after doing a shot, either, but I do not see reason in doing shots.  I prefer to enjoy beverages at my leisure.  It was a good evening, and one I hope to repeat next time she visits.
